happy father's day

Happy Father's Day!

jonah woke his daddy up this morning with coffee and gifts in bed, followed by hannah jane bringing her daddy a gift, too! we had blueberry monkey bread for breakfast and then a long bike ride down to the bike path. Doug and jonah made it up the Worthington Hills mega hill w/ no problem and hannah and I made it about 80% of the way up - I sort of felt like superwoman even though I didn't make it all the way up. Next time, that hill is mine. Anywho, both babies were fast asleep in their bike seats long before we made it home. Now, some backyard swimming, steak salads for dinner and a stop for ice cream for dessert! I love summer....even more, I love you Doug!

Thank you for being a wonderful husband and father. Thank you for all of your help and support, thank you for your hard work in everything you do at work and around the house. Thank for our night on the town on Friday and all of the fun that came with it! ILY and Happy Father's day to you!

Summer is here!

Summer is here and in full swing! We're loving being outside most of the day, gardening, playing in the hoses, swimming in the pools, swinging, etc! I sure feel blessed to be here with jonah and hannah each day!

our 1st family garden

In March, we started thinking about how we could grow our own garden in the big patch of dirt and weeds in our backyard. The previous owners had used it for a garden at one point so why not give it a shot ourselves. We checked out lots of books from the library, drew up plans on growveg.com or veggrow.com (?), started our vegies indoors, shoveled a bazillion loads of topsoil from the driveway, built a fence to keep bella and the babies out, watered, weeded, weeded and weeded some more and WHAAAA LAAA! We have a real garden! I just pray that we get some goodies from it since I've promised every friend, neighbor, grocery store clerk and firefighter in the powell area some fresh, home grown vegies.

We've planted cucumbers, peas, beans, summer squash, tomatoes, peppers, corn, onions, carrots, lettuce, spinach, potatoes and watermelon. I have some pumpkins and gords that I haven't planted yet.
