Pee Pee on the Potty!!!

So, I take Jonah (i almost typed Junior - LOL) to get his hair cut yesterday. I received a coupon in the mail for one of the strip mall hair cutters...only $6.99. We get there and the man with the bleached blond/orange buzz cut, who was sitting out front smoking a cigarette comes inside and calls jonah's name. Sweet, I think to myself...How do I ask him to wash his hands, brush his teeth and change his smoke-filled clothes before cutting my child's hair? Well, you don't, at least I didn't ;-) He starts cutting as I'm explaining that I love his long "little boy haircut" (which is what the girl at cookie cutters, the children's haircutter told me to ask for in the future) and I just want it trimmed up all around...not too short. It looks like he understands and starts cutting, well one snip led to another and before I knew it, Jonah had this adorable new head of hair which aged him 8 or so years. I couldn't take my eyes off of him in the car as we drove off...he looked completely different to me, so grown up.

Then, this morning, after doug left for the airport, Jonah and I got up and were doing our morning routine in the bathroom. This usually consists of unrolling 1/3 of the roll of toilet paper in the toilet and flushing 6 or 7 times to make sure it all goes down. Today, however, was different, I'm attributing it to his new grown up hair cut....he says, "pee pee mommy, pee pee mommy" as he is trying to pull off his jammies. So, I take off his diaper and sit him on his little potty and sure enough I hear a trickle! He really pee-ed in the potty!!!! I of course didn't have any rewards other than my enthusiastic praise to give him but I think the double, pike back flip made it pretty clear to him how excited I was. LOL - does such a flip exist?

what a happy saturday morning!

What a fun weekend...! Heather and Paul got MARRIED on Friday night. It was such a beautiful wedding. I've never seen Heather or Paul look more radiant in my life. The venue was perfect, the food was delicious and Conspiracy "rocked the house". I wish I had a picture to post, but I left the photography to Piper. When I get one, I'll post it for sure. Mimi and Papa came down to help with the kiddies on Thursday and Friday and then got to dance it up at the wedding with us while Lindsey stayed with Hannah and Jonah. Such fun! Thank you for all of your help! For father's day we headed to the beach....Alum Creek's beach for some sun and swimming. Jonah loved playing in the water and sand and Hannah took a nice snooze with her animal friends. I wish every weekend could be as much fun as last weekend was. I loved spending time with the girls in green dresses and feel so blessed to have such wonderful friends and family!
(look who's getting strong enough to sit up!!! she'll be four months on Saturday!)

(mmmmm.....sand and trucks, two of Jonah's favorite things these days)
