The Franklin County Fair
lunch break for dougie poo
a good rainy day activity
After Jonah and Hadley's last day at Curiosity Camp, Amanda suggested we head to the Franklin Park Conservatory to avoid being indoors all afternoon since the rain wasn't letting up. Everyone enjoyed our visit and Jonah got to bring home his first catepillar. We're watching him turn into a butterfly. It's nearly impossible to explain why we're watching a worm in a container to a two year old. I keep saying, "he's a catepillar now, but very soon he'll turn into a beautiful butterfly...it's magic"... I clearly need to brush up on my explanations b/c one of these days he's going to call me on the "it's magic" line.
Jonah's new love...Chautauqua
We headed to Grandma and Papa T's house in Chautauqua a few weekends ago and boy did Jonah have a ball! He got to drive Papa's boat, learn how to fish, watch the prop planes take off and land, go out to a fancy anniversary dinner, play in the kayaks, play on the beach in the institute, miss naps and more! Hannah went on two boat rides which lulled her right to sleep...maybe that's why she didn't sleep at night ;-) We're looking forward to going back next weekend to see Missy, Scott, Ana and Ella!

4th of July
We had a nice 4th of July this year. It may not have been exactly what we envisioned but we were happy to be together! A few highlights....We saw Red, White and Boom (on tv), we heard Worthington's fireworks (from our back porch) and we saw our first Upper Arlington parade (for real, we did go)! We had a picnic at Highbanks and played in the Olentangy River with Jonah, we went for a family run and included Bella and the gang came over for a cookout. All in all, Doug and I enjoyed our weekend together and laughed quite a bit at how our lives have changed.

WE DID IT!
Jonah, Hannah, Bella and I survived our first week w/o Doug! He went to Boston for work from Saturday morning through tonight. His flight has been delayed but I'm crossing my fingers he gets home before Midnight.
We had a fun and busy week. We made out at the neighborhood garage sale...a $10 picnic table/water table, a $2 fisher price tricycle which I ruined last night trying to spray paint it blue, a $5 cozy coupe car and a 4x4 truck for $1. Amanda and Jay had us over for some play time and dinner on sunday...thank you for everything this last week! Jonah went to Curiosity Camp on Monday and Wednesday for a few hours, we tried a new park which ended up being the dirtiest park in cbus, we went out for dinner at Bob Evans (which is apparently the place for mom's to take their children during the week when their husbands are out of town) b/c I wasn't alone. We visited our relatives at the zoo, worked on some crafts and watched mickey mouse from time to time. Despite a few tired and grumpy calls to my mom, I think we did a pretty great job.
